The glorious historic village of Brokenhurst is a delight to visit at any time of year. Dating back more than four thousand years to the Bronze Age there has been a habited settlement in this very charming New Forest area, and it is to this day dotted with Bronze Age burial remains.

The New Forest was created by William the Conqueror in 1079, and was called Nova Forest. Used as a vast royal hunting ground it stretched from his capital at Winchester to the coast at what is now Bournemouth. Brockenhurst can be traced back to the Saxon manor called Broceste, which was pronounced Brockerste, which accounts for the current spelling and pronunciation of the villages name.

The railway station at Brockenhurst is served by South West Trains, with services to Bournemouth, Southampton, London Waterloo and the rest of the country. There are International flights from Bournemouth, Bristol, Heathrow, and Gatwick, plus internal flights from Southampton connecting with major hubs across the UK. There are several coach services from London each day to the area.
